Android for Work on Intune: Episode 2

Episode 2 of this blogseries is going to focus on app deployment. When we are using Android for Work we are also using Google Play for Work. So lets just jump in and I will show you where to get the apps and how easy you can deploy them.

This time I will start with login to Google at https://play.google.com/work with the same account that is connected to Intune already in Episode 1.

We are now inside Google Play for Work and can search and get apps for our organization.

I click on box and are approving it for my organization. This means that it will be available for me in My Company Apps and in Intune Volume Purchased Apps

To be able to get my apps immediately I go to Admin->Mobile Device Management-Android for Work and choose Sync Now.

Now inside Volume Purchased Apps I can see both my apps from Google Play and can choose to deploy them. We have the option to make the app available for install or required install. Required Install with AFW means that the app actually get silently installed inside the work profile on your Android Device.

As you can see, it is pretty straight forward to get started with Apps in Androif for Work. You don’t need to have a developer account or any paid subscription with Google for instance.

This concludes Episode 2. Next Episode will focus on how to enable AFW enrolment and setup of Policies and Configurations.
